A Review for You: Budget Shopping at Hannaford 12/4/10

Yesterday I took a quick shopping trip to Hannaford. This time, I planned ahead - I had 5 recipes I knew I wanted to make within the next 2 weeks which always makes grocery shopping so much easier! I also set aside a budget of $75. For a family of 3 this might seem like a bit much, but I also planned on stocking up on chicken breasts since they were once again on sale for $1.99/lb.

When all was said and done I ended up spending $64.24. This was after a $5/$50 coupon, $1/1 Cabot Butter (Helping Hands Coupon Booklet), $1/2 lbs cheese (coupons.com printable), and $1/2 Pillsbury Crescent rolls (manufacturer coupon from a Pillsbury Magazine). Theoretically, these groceries and the recipes I use could feed my family dinner for 2 weeks. However, my honey likes to take leftovers to work for lunch, so this will probably only last us 7 or 8 days.

Here's what I purchased:

Pillsbury Crescent Rolls (2): $4.18 (2 @ $2.59 - $1 coupon = $4.18)

DelMonte Tomatoes with Green Chiles (2): $1.98 (2 @ $0.99 ea.)

Chi-Chi Green Chiles: $0.95

Hannaford Frozen Mixed Vegetables (32 oz): $1.89

Hannaford Sour Cream: $1.39

Hannaford Kidney Beans: $0.89

Hannaford Cream of Mushroom Soup: $3.56 (4 @ $0.89)

Hannaford Onion Soup Mix (2-pack): $0.99

Hannaford Baked Beans: $1.19

Hannaford 98% Fat Free Cream of Chicken Soup: $1.78 (2 @ $0.89)

Hannaford Honey Barbecue Sauce: $1.39
